Schedule is compatible with Mavericks (10.9) and higher.
Schedule was developed to help Users plan and track projects. Schedule is shareware. Users can try Schedule in Demo Mode for up to ten launches before registration is required.
When you launch Schedule, you see an empty Task Table and some fields and controls.
To start a new project, select New from the File menu, enter a project name (to open an existing project, select Open from the File menu and navigate to the project) and click on the "OK" button. For this example, we will call this project "My Project".
Notice that the window is now titled "My Project" and the fields and buttons are enabled.
Let's add "Planning" as the first Task with a Start Date of 1 November 2001 (either 11/01/01 or 11/1/1 will work fine) and a duration of 30 days.
Note that dates are entered in the format of "MM/DD/YY". Schedule can work with dates from 1/1/00 to 12/31/49. The total timeframe should be 25 years or less.
The field titled "Dependent On Completion of Task #" is used if this Task should start when another Task is finished. Only Tasks that are higher in the Task Table may be referenced. If there is no Referenced Task, the Task will start at the Start Date. Since this is the first Task, let's leave the Referenced Task blank, enter 30 for the number of days and click on the "Add Task" button.
Above you see that the Task Table now has the first Task and its End Date is calculated to be 12/1/01, 30 days after its Start Date.
Above you see that 13 more Tasks have been added. Two of the Tasks have a Start Date and the rest of the Tasks have Referenced Tasks. Task #4 (Excavate) references Task #2 (Prepare/Sign Contract) so Task #4's End Date is 12/29/01, 7 days after Task #2 is completed (12/22/01).
If you select a Task, the added Task is inserted immediately below the selected Task. If no Task is selected, the added Task is added at the bottom of the Task Table. To delete a Task, select a Task and click on the "Delete Task" button.
To edit Cell information, click on a Task Row to select it, pause a second, click on a Cell to highlight it, edit the information and click on the "Enter" key or click on another Task Row.
The Help menu has a submenu item for a calendar.
The Help menu also has a submenu item to help you calculate number of days between two dates.
Click the "Print" button to see, print, or save (pdf) Task Table information.
Click the "Plot" button to see, print, or save (pdf) a plot of Task Table information. A Task's Start Date is displayed as an empty triangle. If the Task's Start Date is used, the Start Date is displayed just below the Start Date symbol. If a Task is referenced, the referenced Task # is displayed in parenthesis. A Task's End Date is displayed as a filled triangle and the Task's End Date is displayed below the End Date symbol. A dotted line is displayed between the Task's Start and End Dates.
The Project Name is displayed at the top of the page. There is a Time Tape showing the start of a month or year as appropriate and the plot is scaled so that the Project fits on one Landscape page. Up to nine Tasks are shown on a page and new pages are generated as needed to display all Tasks. Each page is numbered and dated.
Above is the second Plot page generated for My Project.
Edited Task information is reflected automatically in new Print and Plot displays.
When you close Schedule (top left red button), the current Project is saved and reloaded automatically when Schedule is relaunched.
The File menu also has Open, Save and Save As... submenu items.
Schedule files are saved in a new folder (added with your first Schedule launch) titled "Schedule" in your Documents Folder.
You can move the Schedule window where you want on the display and its location is saved between launches.
